| When I had a ps3, I was able to host multiple servers with ease because my connection is really strong. Just wondering, how can I host my own dedicated server? As well as know what the ip of the server is so ppl can go on it? | |

| You should be able to run the server from your ut install. If you are going to do that though, I'd suggest you patch to v451 as it contains various serverside fixes.
Thr batch command I will post once I get home. It's too much to type on iPhone! Also to find your IP it depends on how your router is setup. Do you know if E.g. 192.168.1.1 will give 82.81.7.5 however 192.168.1.2 will give 82.81.7.6?
If not then your IP from your browser (www.whatismyip.com) wil be the server IP. Make sure you port forward 7777 and 7778 (default ports)
anyway when I get home I will post the server start script.

| Mc, how do you connect to the Internet? Do you have access to the device that provides the connection, or is the neighbourly arrangement still in place? | |

| Did you have to set anything up (router configuration) when you hosted games on your PS3? Maybe there was some clever UPnP stuff going on if it all worked automatically. I expect you'll have to configure some static routes to get UT working though - happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.
Otherwise, I can only suggest having a look through the router list at port-forward for instructions - you have to tell the router to pass on incoming connections to your PC (where the UT server is *actually* hosted) otherwise they'll just fail when they get to the router:

...setting up the server is a separate exercise!

| Mc, it is a long damn tutorial to type to be honest lol It is more a trial and error! I will start by giving you the default ports you will need to forward to even get your server on the master server list. You will also need to configure ur UT.ini with the relevant actors and packages you require. I suggest you mutate mapvote in the server cmd start up line. - Code:
-
# Allow incoming TCP ports TCP_IN = "7777,7778,7779,9777,27900,10000,51234"
# Allow outgoing TCP ports TCP_OUT = "7777,7778,7779,9777,27900,10000,51234"
# Allow incoming UDP ports UDP_IN = "7777,7778,7779,9777,27900,10000,51234"
# Allow outgoing UDP ports UDP_OUT = "7777,7778,7779,9777,27900,10000,51234
You also need
ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=unreal.epicgames.com MasterServerPort=27900 ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master0.gamespy.com MasterServerPort=27900 ServerActors=IpServer.UdpServerUplink MasterServerAddress=master1.multiplay.co.uk MasterServerPort=27900

| ND where we spent most of our times only had people voting for bleak, liandridocks and nalitown... almost nothing else so we lack of ideas for maps suggestions... Also gotta be sure they're good combogib maps... nothing like gauntlet where there's some possible noob campers combo-ing the entrance (as there's only one entrance to the base). Especially three campers combo-ing the entrance... (Happened to ND long ago) but hopefully strange that Multiplay 7 never had such thing happening to their gauntlet map... Clanbase maps? | |

| We'll try some here and there as we go along. I think for now we have a nice set of maps?
I would really like Rob's version of player pings :/ I honestly have mixed feelings about my one, since people see OMG 100000 slots server, OMG 24 people! Must get in there fast!! Then its empty....
